Tell Me POEM BY Siling-La
So hey guys, I have really been working on songs alot lately, and I've just been so focused on composing music, that I forgot about my old friend: poetry.
Now, I know what you're going to say: "Songs are just poems with misic.", but still, it doesn't sound the same when you cannot hear the music, so I'm the only one who can really enjoy them to the fullest. So, today (well, tonight), I am going to go back to something everyone can enjoy the fullest just by reading it. Something that flows well when read aloud: a poem. I hope you guys enjoy, and as always, comment! IMHO, this one isn't very good, but I love hearing how I can improve, so yeah. Leave good stuff, leave bad stuff, just leave something. And thank you for patiently reading all of these paragraphs! Here is the poem!
Can somebody tell me
how half the world can be enslaved
while the other is declared free?
Can anybody tell me
Why it matters that we look different
and why the heart's not what we see?
Is there one who can tell me
why we worry about saving honey bees
but let children die in poverty?
Is there any book that can tell me
Why we may celebrate good times
with tears still on our cheeks?
Who on Earth can tell me
Why we give our time to the elderly
But reject anyone else who sees?
Can the pattern of history tell me
Why every human feels a loss so deep
And a month later, sings?
Can no one tell me?
Does no one know
A single yes
or single no?
Am I left to my own judgement?
Is that humanity's punishment?
It is a curse that enslaves us all
It will do anything to make us fall
This is the curse:
When times seem like they can't be worse
we rely on our own intelligence
We refuse to cross the tiny fence
of just simply asking for help.
Look to to others
Maybe your brothers
even a stranger for advice
Ask anybody to help you
you can't do it on your own.
Because keeping your problems only with you
Is like making an unpayable loan.
You may think you're strong
but we're all weak
No one likes to hear they're wrong
but it is truth I speak
Please my friends
and my readers
as this poem comes to an end
Remember when you can't go one more meter
I'll always be there for you
And your family too
Don't keep your uncertainties between you and you!
