In February 14th of 1968, my Great grandpa and my Great grandma, Juan Alfonso Villavicencio and Paola Josefina Torres got married, it wasn't a big wedding, but was a beautiful moment, Juan invited all of his work friends, all saw that moment, when both said, "I accept" and the officiant said "you can kiss the bride" so Juan and Paola start kissing passionately, and the party started... Fine wine, cake, dance and music, it was the start of a perfect couple...
After the wedding, both decided to have a relaxing vacation as their honeymoon, and they decided to travel to a beautiful city in the Western Leoland, the city of New Madrid (Nueva Madrid in Spanish), a precious coastal city, with pleasant sun, and a paradise in the perfect beaches, so in February 23th, they reached New Madrid, and reserved a room in the hotel called "Joya del Pacífico".
It was a very relaxing honeymoon, but they both let themselves be carried away by their passions, and Paola became pregnant, although at first it was shocking, both were happy to finally expect a child and thus consolidate their relationship.
And finally, in November 26th of 1968, the kid finally born, and it was a Boy, and that boy, was my Grandfather, Carlos Emilio Villavicencio.
Juan Alfonso was living a very happy life, with his wife and his child, and they were making a good progression in their lifes, they bought a new and beautiful house in Puerto Cristo, a new car, Juan Alfonso was promoted as assistant manager at the car manufacturing company he worked for, thing couldn't be better...
But problems arrived in January of 1969, when the Leolandian-Johnesian war started, even when Juan and Paola were neutral during many years about the politics in Leoland, a war literally started, and the Leolandian Government also started an obligatory military service program, who included all the men between 18 and 35 years old, but Juan was already 50 years old in that moment, so he thought he would be saved of going to the war... BUT... A little problem arrived, in the law said, that every war veteran must go to the military service, even if was too old or was already retired, or even if it was a foreign person, and the authorities discovered that Juan Alfonso fought in the Spanish Civil War, so went to the Villavicencio family house, and took Juan away, Paola tried to stop them, but she couldn't do anything, Juan was forced to go in a military truck, to one of the Leolandian Army Headquarters.
Juan and the other veteran soldiers were transfered to the place, and in the quarters, they were put on file, and the General Erika Roberta appeared to talk to them about "what the f*ck its happening here?"
So Erika stand in front of everybody, and said:
"Ok, I know you are confused, and in your minds you are asking *what is this place, and that lady?* but let me explain, why I decided to transfer you to here? Well, i know you already knew about me, but if you were living under a rock, let me explain, my name is the General Erika Roberta Gutiérrez, minister of war of the Leolandian Republic, so my duty is the national defense agains every threat that appears in this glorious nation.
I know, most of you are just old and tired men, i know you maybe are married, and have children, you are old and retired soldiers from many wars, both Leolandians and Inmmigrants are here, from diverse wars, some of you fought in the Recent War in Vietnam, who is still happening, but you retired like coward, or from the Korean War, of you were in the Sencond World War, or the Spanish Civil War who also reached these islands, or from the First World War, even here there is some very few old men from the Spanish-American war of 1898.
I know you're very old, unlike me, who i'm still in my 45... But I think all of you are brillaint soldiers, and I need YOUR help for this moment, I promise to bring back to you, your old military honour, and making of this nation, a Great and Free one!
GLORY TO LEOLAND!"
That was a very passionate speech, and the soldiers were... Confused, scared, but also a little motivated, some soldiers wanted to retake their ol' glory days, other ones only were thinking in their families, and Juan Alfonso started to being scared, his marriage just started, and had a less than one year child, but the political situation forced him to going into the war, the things were complicated, but Juan Alfonso in the bottom had a little trust on the General Erika, she looked to be rude and smart, he though maybe with her direction, they could survive this war, but Juan's worries about his family were still on his head...
