CONTEXT AND RECOMMENDATIONS
This book is targeted towards a bit of an older crowd. A few adults that I know thoroughly enjoyed this book, so I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is willing to read it. But keep in mind that this might be a bit mature for some, I would say anyone under the age of 13. It does have one or two words that might be frowned upon, but I think that the main problem is the second book, which is much more invasive than the first. More words to be frowned upon, as well as a bit of romantic intentions, though nothing too crazy. Also, this book could be thought of as a bit disturbing, not just because of the violence, but because of the main conflict going on. So, to be clear, this series/book is for teens and up. And if you're wondering which gender might be more appealed to, I would say boys. This does not mean that I don't think girls wouldn't enjoy this, because I myself am a girl, but just the idea and the feeling if the book leans a bit more to that particular gender.
I loved this book. It was intense and just plain amazing. The whole idea of it was horrifying yet uplifting. I could not stop reading, and I honestly could not find anything irksome or negative, hence the score it got. This is one of my favorite series and I still cannot stop thinking about it.
WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT
This book is Stephen King meets Suzanne Collins. It's addicting and will keep you up all night. It's just..amazing. I don't even know how to explain it. The characters are easy to relate to and really portray the fear and vulnerability of the teenagers in this story. This is just me, but I actually have a crush on one of the chararcters. That's how well developed they are. I think it's pretty scary how easily this story could become reality, and I think that just adds to the thrill of it. So, if you're looking for a good book, this is it.
This series has not been officially comfirmed as a movie, but is in question. If it does become a movie, it will be in 2015. For more information click the link below.
