Gothic or emo?

Gothic is a religeon. Emo is more of a type or group.

I know my apprehensions might never be allayed. And so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written...

goth consits of ppl that practice wicka, black magic, or witch craft (religions) so goth is a type of religious group

but emo is more of a group of ppl that like diff. things and have different opinions on things....well, its hard to explain without being called a stereotype. i guess, you can call emos "loners"

Goths hate the world and want everyone to die; where emos hate themselves and want to die. Sometimes emos ALSO [along with themself] hate other people/everyone too.

Emo=emotional, depressed, emo music, sad people, usually have a side fringe, etc.
Goth=dark, gothic, smokers, non-conformists, just angry people, screamo music, etc.

Emo isn't a style... I was diagnosed with Depression and Bipolar Disorder, and I used to cut myself. I guess you could call me emo, but I don't like labels, plus I don't dress scene.

I... I'm not deep, or funny, or anything. I'm not even a good gamer. I HAVE NEVER PLAYED A LOZ GAME. I'm pretty plain.

People on SDK seem to hate on emo's, but why? That's how they chose to live, what makes you involved in their decision?

Lifes like a game there are those who are good at it and those who need practice.

Both can be concidered a style.

Both can be considered a religion if you think about it.

Goth - People that wear black constintaly, and are outcatst

Emo - People that wear black constintaly too, Are outcast, and are usualy depressed in some way. Alot of emo's cut. But not all.

Or both can just be considered a lable

Just remember, I cared when no one else did.

Goths are people who see the dark side to life, and find the beauty in it. They wear black because they like the color, or they try to blend in... but it never really works. Emo however, in my opinion, is just a much softer version of goth. They are quite similar, if you look at the smaller details of each subculture. Yes, they do wear black, but that's because they like the color. And they don't wear it all the time. Goths can wear pink, blue, purple... it doesn't matter. Same with emos. If you wear black just so you can be emo, your just a poser. And not all goths are devil worshippers. Some are, some aren't. Not all emos cut- most "emo's" I've seen just cut because it's "what emos do". Posers. Plain, simple, posers. I belive, if I remember... emo is emocore, that started in the 80's-90's, because it stemed off of the rock movement. So, you can be emo if your into emocore bands. Goths do not support hate and violence.Although some people assume that they do because of the way they dress.Goths may choose to wear dark clothing.Gothic clothing is mostly black and more darker than emo clothing.Pure gothic rock does not exist anymore today. Instead a lot of "shock rock" and "heavy metal" are mistaken as goth such as Marilyn Mason,Cradle of Filfth but actually they are not gothic at all.

1.Emo is a subculture that formed somewhere around the 80s.Rites of Spring were one of the first emo bands.Emo people often listen to a music genre called "emotive hardcore" which derived from punk rock. Emotive Hardcore is music with often emotional or confessional music.Originally the "emo" fashion was suppost to have a clean,cut look. But as soon more teenagers been involved with the subculture,the fashion soon became a more darker clothing look. Bangs swept to the side of the face,Black and pink clothing,Studded belts and Horned-Rimmed glasses are commanly found in the "emo" fashion.Soon emo became stereotyped with depression and self harm.Emo people mainly focus on the importance of the feelings and emotions of people.

Goth has a much more darker style than emo. Emo people wear black but many bright colours too but goths wear more black. Also "emo" music have more confessional and emotional music.Emo people mainly focus on emotions and feelings.Goths mainly focus on the aesthics.Goths also are free-thinkers and don't really care about fame and popularity.Today emo subculture is popular in youth culture but goth is pretty underground(not very popular).

Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections.

goth- beliving in demon gods, and dark clothes and stuff

emo- seeing yourself as your worst enemy, being too sad to be around other people, finding screamo and hard rock music (like the old linkin park) calming,...etc
