The first thing that comes to mind is to make the image more white. Something like placing a translucent white filter over it. That way, black text can stand out on it, even if it's on the darker parts.

Btw the text outline doesn't show up on DSi.

Nice to see that you're learning to code! Also, I appreciate the white border on the text to increase contrast. It looks a tad bit jank, but it works.

Punch the Bird is a meme idea for a mobile app or something spawned from an interesting conversation about how annoying geese are. Just punch 'em.
