V cool bro. Thrifting is where it's at fr. Troubleshooting is the part that's most fun IMO, but also just being able to get cheap hardware is fun too. I kinda had a problem there for a bit lmao

@souldj763.xyz sick! im always tinkering around with hardware or repairing tech. Recently picked up a free dell optiplex from fb marketplace which was listed as faulty. Turning it on gave me a light sequence on the power button which normally means bad ram. Tested all the sticks and found one faulty DIMM which it booted without so yeah free pc with 2tb hdd and 256gb sata ssd! I'm using it as a backup for all my photos and to do some light editing with the 100% legally acquired version of adobe photoshop. I might try turn it into a nas one day but not yet. it runs windows 7 (last good version imo)

This was a bit after high school, but around the time I set up my website. There were bits of time where I'd restrict myself to no internet access aside from my Pentium II pc. Ofc a Pentium II with 384MiB of RAM isn't going to be running any full fledged web browsers lol.

Yeah, I used to tinker quite a bit during high school. My family already had a few old machines, and parts were cheap which was good considering I had no income. Software is free though, so most of my tinkering has just trying to push the hardware I already had as far as it could go. I'm no stranger to hardware upgrades, repairs, or swaps though.

My cat returned a few weeks ago, thankfully! He was totally fine aswell, so idek what happened to him... I guess he got locked in a shed or someone's house??

Also DAMN at 5? That's terrifying :sob:

I mean fair enough lol i definitely wouldn't go with some random stranger in a foreign country, even if i was lost.

I remember getting seperated from my mother in a crowd in my hometown when i was 5 or something and luckily there was a policeman nearby and i remember wailing to him that i had lost my mum. I'm not sure exactly what happened but i stood on a wall for a few minutes with the policeman until my mum came rushing back a few minutes later.

Sorry for my late reply i've been caught up in life too (but in a good way!)
