This isn't relatable for most of the SDK community, but I'm trying to write more blogs about anything.
Apartment hunting is very annoying. It annoys me to no end. My lease is up May 2, 2022. I have about a month and a half to find a new apartment. I'm not renewing this lease because they raised rent where I think it's too much for a place that has cockroaches and doesn't have a large enough dumpster for all the residents.
I hate how when I mention apartment hunting many a friend has mentioned how I should consider buying a house. Even my dad went into this topic of discussion. I don't think buying a house is the right move for me at this time. I don't want to be held down to one place that much, and I don't have the money if there end up being repairs I'd have to do. Which means I'm still looking at renting. I know that for first time buyers they have many offers in place where you only have to put 3.5% down, but I'm not sure if I even have that much considering house prices!
I'll call up a place and they'll tell me it's already rented out when it was posted less than 2 days ago. Which leads me to checking and rechecking the same websites over and over again every day. To the point I've considered writing a script that refreshes them every 10 minutes and tells me if there's any updates. The problem with a script that does that is these websites are tricky. Not all of them sort by new and some of them don't have the option to sort it yourself. Instead you would have to have a script that kept the total number of apartments available in your area and just notified you if that number increased. The issue is that number can also decrease as apartments go off the market. It's a tricky thing at play here that isn't easy to deal with.
I wish it was a more easy thing to do. We're trying to not get stuck with a shitty over priced place that has roaches this time around. Which means I'm trying to rent a very small house or town house instead of a true apartment. This has made the search a little more difficult because I'm not contacting apartment companies. I'm contacting relators who are individually renting out places.
I'm hoping with this move, I am able to stay in this apartment without having to move again for at least 2 years. Maybe I'll feel as if I can afford a house once that time comes, but I doubt it.
Relatable. For a large majority of my life I've been getting bounced around everywhere without a good place to stay or any real decent support or sometimes people don't understand and try to chalk up or assume when it can't be ascertained
idk why but i love town houses...exept for the fact there left and right space is small. but ya if your moving in florida or texes, your going to have a hard time finding a cheap one because of...well the stuped flu called covid.
