#3007 laid down on the cold stone floor in her prison cell, it wasn't exactly spacious, or even a cell. More so the size of your average closet. The walls were made of equally cold bricks, this has been #3007's home since she was born...Or rather, created. She was a experiment, a failed one. She's lived in this prison for her whole life and as far as she knew it was life. There was nothing she could do about it. #3007 normal in mind, but on the outside she certainly looked the part of a failed experiment. Her eyes had a deep green glow to them, her skin was also a greenish color. Her hair is a strange mixture of blue and green and she had various.....Scales across her body. However she was the most normal looking out of her batch. Most of her mind has already died, in fact a few hours ago her cellmate died right next to her. It's corpse is still sitting there, staring at #3007 with cold dead eyes....It was enough to make anyone nervous.
She had thought of escape multiple times, but had never attempted it. It would be suicide anyway, the guards would catch you and be SURE to kill you in front of everyone...Even if you just spoke about escape.
Although #3007 didn't hate humans, sure she hated her creator but technically she was human. At this point #3007 was lost in her thoughts and didn't realize the incinerator units had already come to dispose of her cellmates corpse. She smelled the familiar smell of burnt flesh, she gagged slightly. As repulsive as the thought was, she'd almost become...Used to it? She shook her head and tried not to think about it. She decided to recount everything she knew about herself, to ensure she wasn't going insane.
My tag is #3007.
I am 17.
I am a failed experiment.
Everyone hates me.
That was essentially everything she knew about herself. Shd sighed heavily. Her head ached severely. The thought detectors must have been honing in on her, to cover up her previous thoughts, she mentally recited once more:
My tag is #3007.
I am 17.
I am a failed experiment.
Everyone hates me.
She recited it until the headache stopped. In this prison your mind isn't even safe. The scientists can tap into your mind at any moment
and listen in, or even alter things
She shivered at the thought that she'd potentially had a family that they erased from he memory. A family who'd never see their child again....
Even if her biological parents did see her, they wouldn't want her in this state....If she had parents that is. She heard footsteps and imminently leaned against the wall, making an attempt to act.....Casual?
The sound came closer...
Then closer...
THEN CLOSER...
Her heart rate increased as did her breathing, who could it possibly be?
Could she have possibly reached her expiration date and she was about to be executed?
Her mind went haywire as the only possible explanation revealed itself as a scientist swung her cell door open, holding a very squirmy dwarf man.
"Here's your new cellmate."
He said, throwing him into the cell then slamming the door. The angry little dwarf man stood up, holding his head. "Dear god, they don't ever let you have it easy here, do they?!" The dwarf man stated bluntly. He appeared to be about the same age as #3007, although it's usually hard to tell a mutant freakshows age just my appearances. He seemed like a harmless person...At least at first glance. He had a black basic t-shirt on with grey shorts. Also his skin was red..
"Uhm.....N-no....They don't I guess....?" #3007 stammered awkwardly. She wasn't exactly they sociable type since most of the experiments died before they were taught to speak.
"They just make you, pick you up and throw ya in a cell with some stranger you don't care about!" The dwarf man said in an Irish accent.
"No offense." He added.
"None taken." #3007 replied.
"So what's your name you.....Uh....Scaley....Alien.....Uh...You....?" The dwarf man said.
"Oh Uhm....#3007....?"
She replied.
"Not your tag, your name!" The Dwarf man yelled.
"M-my name...?" #3007 asked confused.
"You mean you never named yourself?!" The Dwarf man asked.
"Uh....I-I I never really...-"
"I'LL NAME YA!" Dwarf man stated, looking her up and down.
"Hmmmm, you look like a....Opal...." He stated.
"Oh....Is it because of the scales, since opal is created in oceans?"
She asked.
"No, not really, I just think it sounds stupid! My name is Snerz!" Snerz exclaimed, holding out his hand.
"Ew.....I'm not touching that...." Opal said, sliding herself back slightly.
Snerz glared at her.
Suddenly she felt her head ache again, she was used to it by this time, but Snerz on the other hand, he fell to the ground and groaned in pain, as Opal repeated recited:
My tag is #3007.
I am 17.
I am a failed experiment
Everyone hates me
My tag is 3007
I am 17.
I am a failed experiment.
Everyone hates me.
Until the headache Eventally ebbed. She opened eyes breathing heavily, her chest beating. She was used to it yes, but it didn't make it any less painful. She looked down at Snerz and...
He wasn't moving....
PART TWO!!!
Her mind was racing, her only friend....Was he....?
He must have been having a negative reaction to the though reading. She started pounding on the cell door.
"HELP, HELP SOMBODY PLEASE!" She yelled, her voice cracking slightly as tears flooded her eyes.
"PLEASE!" She screamed once more, her screams bouncing off the stone walls.
But nobody came...
Just silence, so she laid on the ground and began crying. She realized then that she was just as pathetic as she was when she arrived here.
Until she heard a voice.
"Augh, my damn head!" Snerz groaned, standing up.
"I feel like sh-" Before Snerz could finish his sentence he was hugged tightly by Opal.
The people monitoring his thoughts must have found something upsetting to them....Perhaps they shut down his brain function temporarily? could that even happen?!
"...I hate physical contact..." Snerz stated and Opal imminently backed off. "Sorry..." Opal stated meekly.
"I'm hungry...." Snerz stated.
"Well, they don't exactly feed us....You know how to skin a rat, right?" Opal asked.
Snerz made a disgusted expression at the mention of it.
"NO, WHY WOULD I?!?" Snerz yelled, horrified.
"Because my main diet so far has consisted of roasted rats." Opal said simply.
Snerz was beyond disgusted when he saw the half eaten eat corpse in the corner.
"And just like that, I don't trust you..." Snerz quipped.
"I'm going to bed." Opal stated bluntly, laying down on the freezing brick floor, her open wounds burning, she just closed her eyes and took deep breaths. Eventally she drifted off to sleep.
She woke up with a jolt to comically loud footsteps. Snerz was still sleeping though (he must be a pretty heavy sleeper.)
The door opened to reveal a....
Guy.
He looked to be about 20, he was completely normal in every way, no scales, peculiar colored skin, explosive arms, sticky hair....
Just a Guy.
He was wearing a red jacket and and black jeans.
Opal narrowed her eyes, putting her hand in her pocket (Where her balisong knife was, just in case.)
"W-Who are you...?" Opal asked cautiously.
The boy seemed shocked, he was staring at Opal like she was some kind of monster.
Granted....
"I-I'm Bill, I'm more concerned about you, you looked like you were microwaved or something...." Bill said, walking closer to Opal.
"You.....You aren't concerned, you don't care!" Opal screamed, backing up.
Bill flinched slightly at her outburst and continued approaching. "Look, I-I just wanna help you and your friend...." Bill reassured.
"Don't touch me!" Opal snapped.
"You're just gonna try to kill me, I know your games, Human!" She added, taking another step backwards.
Bill raised his hands up and backed away. "Alright then..." He stated, before leaving he opened his backpack and placed two bags of beef jerky on the floor, then he slammed the cell door. Opal looked at it intently. She assumed it was probably poisoned or something. After a while Snerz awoke and stretched. "Good morning Opal." He simply stated.
"Morning Snerz, How was your stay at happy little hellhole inn?" Opal jabbed, sitting down on the floor.
"My back hurts, it was lovely." Snerz said, picking up the bag of Beef jerky.
"Snerz wait!" Opal yelled but he'd already taken a few bites.
