Konnichiwa! As y'all may have already heard, this year, I had made the bold (and perhaps misguided) decision to try to do 5 different SDK Quilts (FKA the DSiPaint Quilt) this year, by trying out TacoRocco's idea of doing 4 different seasonal quilts throughout the course of the year, in addition to the regular annual SDK Quilt.
(Which, of course, was also TacoRocco's idea.)

The Spring SDK Quilt was surprisingly successful, and I had hoped that the quilts for the other 3 seasons would also turn out to be successful, even if to a far lesser extent. Unfortunately, that was not the case, and this is where the 5 SDK Quilts I had planned to make this year stand now:

Spring SDK Quilt: 15 Squares (Finished)
Summer SDK Quilt: 3 Squares
Autumn SDK Quilt: 1 Square
Winter SDK Quilt: 0 Squares
Annual SDK Quilt (Dragon Theme): 1 Square

As you can see, there have been little to no submissions for the 4 unfinished quilts, and although widespread community participation is absolutely essential with this sort of thing, most of the blame for this predicament lies with me.

Not only did I spend most of this year distracted by other things (including all of the usual unnecessary drama, of course), I also made a HUGE mistake in assuming that the community would be both willing and able to crank out squares for 5 different quilts in 1 year, and had I simply focused on the 1 annual SDK Quilt like I did last year, it'd likely be finished (or almost finished) by now.
(Seasonal quilts were a cool idea, but there just aren't enough artists with enough free time among the active community members here.)

Anyway, the question remains as to what I should do now. One option I am considering is simply merging all 4 of the seasonal quilts with the annual SDK Quilt, and going with 2 combined themes for this year's quilt of the 4 seasons and the dragon theme I had already decided on. By doing that, I would have 20 squares for this year's SDK Quilt, just 5 squares short of the 25 squares that both last year's quilt and the original 2011 DSiPaint Quilt had.

If anyone has any ideas as to how I should go about trying to salvage this mess that I made, please share them with me in the comments here, and I'd like to apologize to everyone here who was looking forward to the seasonal quilts when I had first announced them earlier this year, and was disapppointed by my shoddy handling of this all.
