I'm sure not many of you know who Wifiskeleton is, and to be completely honest, I didn't know him much, but I'll give you a rundown of who he is (some of my information was gathered from his Wikipedia page).
Wifiskeleton (July 24, 2003 – May 5, 2025), who's real name is Jeremiah Simms, was a recently popular rapper and songwriter. He initially gained popularity in 2020 in the underground Hip-Hop genre. He was originally a youtuber, making commentary videos in the late 2010s. One of his songs when he was under the name of "FuxkCy" and later "*67" called World's A Fuck Cover gained popularity on TikTok in the early 2020's. It was in 2022 when he became known as "Wifiskeleton" and has kept the name up until his death, apparently due to him getting drunk and "pouring his inner thoughts over Ghost Mountain type beats". In October, he released his most popular album Suburban Devil with songs like My Twenty First Reason </3 and his most popular song, Nope You're Too Late I Already Died. As of now, he has over 2 million monthly listeners.
On may 5th 2025, Witchbox, who was one of Jeremiah's very close friends, announced in his discord server that he had died, allegedly of a drug overdose in the early morning. Many believe that his death was intentional, as he stated in a livestream very shortly before he died that he wished to take his own life (unreliable source). When the livestream ended, his Instagram page went silent.
I had only recently listened to Wifiskeleton after his song "Nope You're Too Late I Already died" went viral on TikTok over the past week or so, with various people making meme covers of the song, which had also went viral.
I am aware that this is a very short blog, and some of the information may be incorrect so please correct me on anything I got wrong, but I feel his death was very sad, and we need much more awareness on drug use and depression. His music changed many people's lives, and he was gone much too early. Lastly, may Wifiskeleton rest in peace and may he be well in the afterlife. He will be missed by many. I also hope his family, friends and all of his fans are doing well and are handling his passing (I'm sorry I am really bad with wording things like that).
