Hi there! You've probably had heard/played a fighting game at some random time. Whether if it was Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat or some ramdom indie fighting game you had found online and know every single combo and special for each character. Well imagine if you put all the characters or even some from these games and sure, lets add a few people who aren't from fighting games like bugs bunny, or spongebob, or even mario. Then you have found/made a game, more expanded and crazier than any SSB game. I present to you: M.U.G.E.N.
Now you may or may not have heard of mugen but this game is no doubt a game created by everyone, played by everyone. this game was created in 1999 by a dev company called Electrabyte (i believe), originally made as a different game but was made as a sandbox for using assets from different emulators and games to make mugen become alive. Now you could be wondering still what i mean by "a game createdby everyone, played by everyone". Well in mugen you can have basically anyone you can think of but made just for this game.
Depending on the version of mugen you are using, you can add certain characters on it. By going on Mugen Archive or the mugen wiki or andersonkenya's website, you can find and search for tons of characters you can choose to play with. And say you decided to download the characters of foxy from fnaf and spiderman from marvel vs capcom, put their fires into the character folder within the game folder itself, to then use Vselect (which is a more easier way to add characters into mugen) or just manually adding their names onto fight.def, you can legit have those two characters fighting against each other or themselves (if that somewhat made sense. its alot you have to do just to have mugen running and operating with different characters and stages and screenpacks just for it to look good and a bit flashy. I'd suggest if you wanna try it out to look on a online video tutorial for making mugen or just watch random fight videos of mugen from different people if you may not have the time to build it or just dont feel like it)
Now is mugen a fair game? Not really depending on the characters on there that are pretty cheap or if a character is just awful. Is it really technical? Somewhat, depending on the character if they have a movelist that requires alot of skill to pull off like playing Q from SF3 3rd Strike, or if a character has such a movelist that in a certain combo can fully kill a character in one combo, then its not that technical. But it depends on your skill level aswell with these types of games. So while its a unfair game because of the characters ingame that can do a one shot compared to regular characters. I'd say look at it if its a work of art and a funny video. With a certain character that is meme based going head to head with a joke character on maybe cpu vs cpu, it'll def be a ride for laughter.
So I say whether if you wanna watch two characters go at it in a dream battle, or just go full random and watch a 2v2 of a random assortment of characters, mugen is always going to deliver. Now this isnt a game to be taken seriously (unless theres money on the line), its a sandbox full of several random matches that are entertainment at its best. Play a arcade game with maybe uncle joel from vinesauce or watch orochi fight omega tiger woods for fun, its a infinite game of several possibilities. So if you wanna experience mugen or i just reminded you again about this game, give it a try and see whos gonna win the battle.
(SORRY IF ITS A YAPFEST. and sorry if it kinda doesn't make sense or if it looks like im rambling. im typing on a 3ds so my hand is killing me. but this is my first post and hopefully you guys enjoyed reading it if ya did. but yeah, go give mugen a shot and have a laugh or 2. And im new so please mind me getting comfortable in here if thats okay. anyway dueces!)
