I saw the movie last night. Let me just say one thing...
WOW!
I really enjoyed that one. Nicolas Cage made a perfect role for a socerer. It was funny, but not so funny that the movie looked cheap. It had the perfect twist of comedy. My favorite part was when they spoofed the original Disney cartoon from Fantasia 1940. They even used the same song, L'apprenti Sorcier by Paul Ducas.
It was a good modern twist on that part, the brooms and mops (and other household cleaning utilities) got out of control and flooded the place. He almost falls to his death when the Sorcerer returns, and like the cartoon, commands the inanimate objects drop dead and the water somehow disappears (that was always a mystery to me in the cartoon too, WHERE does the water go?)
Anyways, I loved the movie. It had a great story. The ending had me irritated though. First I'm sitting on the edge of my seat, refraining from yelling at the screen so I didn't get kicked out of the theater, then I'm crying my eyes out, then I'm sitting on the edge of my seat again, then it's back to crying because of a happy ending, then I go to laughing MAKE UP YOU MIND!
It's worth waiting in line. I give it a 9-10. They still couldve not used a babbling idiot for the apprentice. And his girlfriend couldn't been a better actress too.
Thankyou for reading and I hope you enjoy(ed) the movie too.
