a drunk man in an oldsmobile
they said had run the light
that caused the six car pileup
on 109 that night
where broken bodies lay about
and blood was everywhere
the sirens screamed out eulogies
as death was in the air

a mother trapped inside her car
was heard above the noise
her plaintive plea near split the air
"oh God,please save my boys!"
she fought to loosen her pinned hands
she struggled to get get free
but mangled metal held her fast
in grim captivity

her frightened eyes then focused
where the backseat once had been
but all she saw was broken glass
and two childrens seats crushed in
her twins were nowhere to b seen
she did not hear thm cry
and thn she prayed they been thrown free
"oh God,dont let thm die."

the firemen came nd cut her loose
but wen thy searched the bak
they found therein no little boys
but the seat belts were in tact
they thot the woman had gone mad
nd was traveling alone
but wen thy turned to question her
they discovered she was gone

the policemen saw her running wild
nd screaming above the noise
in beseeching supplication
please help me find my boys
their 4 years old nd wear blue shirts
their jeans r blue to match
one cop spoke up,their in my car
nd thy dont hav a scratch

thy said their daddy put thm there
nd gave thm each a cone
thn told thm to wait 4 mom
to come nd take thm home
ive searched the area high nd low
but i cant find their dad
he mustve fled the scene i guess
nd tht is very bad

the mother hugged the twins nd said while wiping at a tear
he could not flee the scene u c
for hes been dead a year
the cop just looked confused nd askd
how can tht b true
the boys said mommy, daddy came
nd left a kiss 4 u

he told us not to wrry
nd tht u would b all rite
nd thn he put us in this car
with the pretty flashing light
but we wanted him to stay with us
bcuz we miss him so
but mommy he just hugged us tite
