'Hurt, hurt, hurt' he repeats.
Emotion bursting with every glare
Tears rolling across his cheeks
Feels like everyone just stops to stare.
Feels like a wet cliffside.
So close to falling, a brutal fall.
He clenches his fingers, in comes the tide
For the hope that's risen like a wake-up call.
He opens his eyes and lets his strength unleash,
digging his fingers into the cruel Earth.
Curling and twisting his fingers to be..
Freed from the start, just like at birth.
And so he puts on one giant grin,
and smashes his foot against the rock,
With his foot, like a ball on a pin..
Tries to get his final lock!
He looks down from the cliff,
Yet he feels no pain.
Because there was always an 'if.'
But he ignored negativity in vain.
He gives the ultimate jump, from a tiny rock
And his heart racing, a feeling so new.
To have greatly conquered a slippery cliff,
Just for doing what he had to do.
And so, he didn't mutter pain again.
And tears didn't roll across his cheeks.
But he said with a grin, just like a man.
'I'm doing this again.' No repeats.
