What is small and cheap but can unleash the most amazing works of art, yet take away the unwanted details? What object can create a work of art that is treasured for a life time? You’re correct! It’s a pencil! My pencil means more to me than this everyday writing utensil like it means to most people. This object is a holder of unlimited ideas just waiting to pop out any time when some one thinks of one. Picture a pencil as a gum ball dispenser; I put a quarter in (an idea), twist the knob, and all of a sudden a delicious gumball of choice comes out (a work of art.) For me, must be a number two pencil and be sharpened to the point. If not, the pencil is too dull and too hard to write with because the lead isn’t dark enough to see. Also if a pencil has a bad eraser, black smudges will smear all over the paper, or you will indeed rip your paper with one of those.
Pencils inspire me to write about certain subjects depending on how they look or smell. For example, pencils that have designs on them inspire me to write about those. However, the plain yellow ones are interesting too because they smell like a lush, beautiful forest. Preferably, any pencil will do fine no matter its smell or appearance. If a pencil were to have a taste, it would probably taste of a mountain range, full of endless trees and brush. Take the pencil in your hand, hold it. Doesn’t it make you just want to draw a huge picture, or write a seven-hundred page book? It does for me at least. The pencil that I am using right now has never been used. Therefore, I know that it contains a fresh supply of new ideas to be written and drawn for a long time. I like used pencils too, because I know that it has already helped someone express his or her ideas so I know that I can rely on it too.
Pencils can be used for more than just writing an essay or creating a work of art. For example, I’ve seen someone that made a tower out of pencils. I also do many things with pencils. I love to make flipbooks with them; they are really fun and work the best with a number two pencil that is dark. Another thing that I like it to do, is hold a pencil in my hand and bounce it up and down, this creates an illusion that makes it look like the pencil is bendy, I do this really well and I love to trick people with it. These things explain that a pencil is beyond what most people think and expands in many different ways of possibilities.
Some times when I am feeling lackadaisical, I will, like free writing, take my pencil and just let my hand roam over the paper. A lot of the times I get a really cool design and treasure it forever, or other times I make a total piece of junk and I throw it out. I have created many works of art in the past. I also created a comic book with a character that I got just by doing that very technique. As you can imagine, the character wasn’t very detailed. Now that you have read this essay, I hope that you have discovered a true meaning behind the everyday writing utensil, and now know to respect what a gift it is to be able to express and show you’re ideas on a single piece of paper. In other words this insignificant stick of graphite has the promise for an endless creation.
idk why i dont get enough blogs, so ill leave, DELETE my account, start over, and never get noticed...and probably brake my dsi, buy another one. cuz THATZ exactly how i feel!
