Ok people. I work for gamestop and i just want you all to know, UNDER 17, NO PURCHASE OF GAMES LABLED "M". Too many children are coming into Gamestop and trying to purchase M rated games. Please stop. And if one of the employees sells you that game and your under 17, He will be instanly fired.
And now a Rant from arctrum =D
my philosophy on M games is all based on maturity level. If you are a 15 year old that is mature enough to handle the content of the game, go for it, they are made to have fun. However, i have a problem with kids who do not have any differentiation between what happens on the screen, and how life works. Games are fun, they are made to enjoy. ESRB is trying to help parents make the right decision of what to let your children be exposed too. When i was 15 my parents and i talked about it and they found me MATURE enough to play those types of games.
Please people, educate yourselves. A game can't ever cause a 16 year old to run out into the street and kill 5 people. It can contribute if the 16 year old is stupid.
Also people who blame video game companys are looking for someone to take the heat off of themselves. It moves all the attention to the video games and they almost get off scott free.
Children think that they have to play M games to be mature. NO YOU DONT. they are ment to have fun!
Also the whole "I use it to vent." excuse. Doesn't work. You can vent just as well playing Wii boxing. You dont have to go on some mass killing spree on GTA.
play games, that is what they are ment for. BUT ONLY PLAY IT WHEN YOU ARE READY.
End rant =D
I dont mean to sound mean, but too many times do i see my beloved video game companys blamed by moronic teenagers who are looking for someone to take the heat off them.
I think this is obvioius, & if parent's are actually THAT dumb to send there kids to the shop to get it by themselves, then it's the PARENT'S you need to say something to, not the teens on SDK, bc I doubt it will do much of anything, also, think about it, how many on here have you actually seen in your store...so yea, you're getting your message out but it won't stop your problem IN YOUR AREA.
