I've noticed that in both chatrooms and in real life, the meaning if the word 'Gay' has been distorted. I shall attempt to undistort it so-to-speak.

So most people realise that the original definition of gay meant 'happy'. I'm sure none of you use that definition anymore, so I will ignore that in this blog. Nowadays, gay is typically considered a different word for homosexual. This word is typically seen as demeaning and derogatory to those who use it. The gay population are proud of who they are and don't need people trying to insult them. So please, try to stay away from the word 'Gay' as it is seen as derogatory and negative. Next time you get the urge to call someone gay, think of a person you may know who is homosexual or bisexual, and think of how it could hurt him/her. So just try to respect people's views, even if you don't agree.
