Soul Music

I sat at the piano.
I glanced at the clock.
The hands slowely moving,
with a tik and a tok.

"Nothing's gone right!"
I thought with a moan.
I madly clanged the keys,
and was suprised by the tones.

They rang loud, clear,
clean, and ringing,
and I found myself sitting there,
silently thinking.

I could still feel the pulse
of the noise in my ear,
I could still here the clock,
with the ticking so near.

I heard a soft meow,
from the kitten nearby,
I heard also a roar
of a plane flying by.

I sat up straight
at a sudden thought,
"Maybe things are bad,
but not as bad as I thought.

"I know the only way,
to cure my blues,
is to open up
in radiant tunes!"

So I spun back around
and faced my cure,
I took a deep breath,
this would work for sure.

I closed my eyes,
and raised my hands,
and listened to the
melodious strands.

I soon found my hands
playin' straight from my heart!
My gloom quickly vanished-
my soul tore apart!

I weeped as a played,
I angrily banged,
it went from a sweet gentle chord,
to a loud, shaking bang!

My body wasn't mine,
my thoughts were a blur,
this was incredible!
My inner depths had been stirred!

The untouchable touched-
The unseeable seen!
The music took over,
but what did it mean?!

I suddenly stopped,
and breathed with tears,
"The music protrays my love,
my anger, the One who is near!"

And if ever I felt,
my day had gone wrong,
You know what I did?
-I broke in out in a song.
