Darin snorted in incontempt. "And you," he said turning to me, "I see you are still wearing that child's pendant."
I grabbed the small moon-shaped charm and growled deeply at Darin. He smirked evily, "I would have liked to meet the worthless rat."
"He was not worthless! You killed him without mercy!" I yelled at the top of my voice. Darin had struck a nerve, and he knew it.
"Enough! Punch him, would you?" Reo looked at me.
"I will not lower myself to his level! I dare not touch him less he hits me!" I stared Reo down, I did not feel like dealing with this. Darin looked on at us, his arms folded and a smile of triumph crossed his face. A small laugh escaped his lips.
"You!" Reo's eyes boared into Darin's. "If you do one more more thing out of turn, I will kill you permanentley!"
"Death is too good for him," I added.
"Yes, banishment to the Nether would be far better a punishment," Reo thought aloud.
"You are both fools," Darin said quietly. Reo dismounted and knocked him out again. He tied him tighter to the wolf. And we set off again. We set up camp not long afterwards. Darin lay on a cot, still unconcious, in a tent. Reo and sat at a small fire, the warmth barely registering. Everything either had no sensation or felt like ice against my skin now-a-days.
"Rest," Reo murmmered at me.
"I cannot sleep knowing he's still alive after all this." I did not really sleep anyways, but rest was needed from time to time.
"Go ahead, I will watch." Reo needed little sleep regardless as a Demon. I trusted him enough to take care of things and nodded. I fell asleep on the ground not far from the fire light. No visions passed in front of my eyes, only darkness.
