The darkness was disturbed by Reo shaking me. "Wake up. We must get to the meeting." I sat up, wide awake, and looked over at Darin who sat rubbing his head. Two knock outs in one day had done a number to him. I smiled to myself, amused.
When everythig was packed up and the fire reduced to smolders, Reo took us by the arm and we were teleported several leagues away. We arrived at base of a tall mountain. "We will attack them there," Reo announced.
"We are going to attack the Demon Lords?" I thought he was insane. Surely we could not win against masters of the Nether!
"With your defense, Darin's speed, and my skill we should be able to take them." Then a large wolf appeared behind us.
"I have come to help." Zofrin, the druid we met in the nest, returned to human form.
"You are alive," nodded Reo. He took hold of Darin, Zofrin, and I. Next, we were in a large room. Eight Demon lords sat in their Blood Elven forms at a large table.
"Reondalis!" one of them exclaimed. They all stood at once. One threw something at me and I passed out.
I awoke looking up at a white sky. I sat up and a small pain surged through my head, but I welcomed it. This pain was caused by Demons so I felt it. I looked to my right. Reo sat, his legs extended in front of him, examining his left hand. I noticed his ring finger was missing and I thanked the Light it was not something more serious. Zofrin lay on his back to my left. A scratch obviously made by a four clawed animal of some sort ran along his abdomen and a red, swollen bite mark stretched across his right forearm. Darin layed not far from him. A pool of dark red snow oozed underneath him. His breath was shallow and his face was twisted in unspoken pain. "Re- Reo," he caughed. "Heal me."
Reo looked at him and lifted the hand with all its fingers. A light glowed faintly and Darin's chest did the same. I could see it relieved some of his pain as Reo attempted to heal him but it was restored once Reo stopped.
