"I must retrive the sword," Reo called after me. He aproached the right hand of the lich in which it held its sword. He hit the the mail gloved hand with the hilt of his sword and the lich's weapon dropped to the floor. With the addition of me knocking the helm off, the lich's armor crashed down with a loud noise suddenly.
Reo picked up the sword and the runes inscribed on its blade lit immediately to his touch. "The Sword of Eternity." Reo beathed deeply. I feel power emitting from him and the glorious sword. The hilt beheld nothing more than a small incription I could not read.
"Hit me," Reo said. I had learned enough to trust him. With a sword with a title such as this I could bring no harm to him. I took my sword and struck him in the side. I expected my sword to bite into his flesh but instead it bounced off his abdomen in loud clang. I could feel the vibrations run through my sword and up my arm.
"Amazing," I wispered. But even if the sword gave immortality to its weilder, it would only work when he held. If he were to be seperated from it, Reo would be vulnerable again.
He admired the sword for a long moment and then slid it into his scabard. The room rang with as he sheathed it.
Zofrin sat on the marble floor and returned to his human form. "Where to now?"
"We must return to the Demon camping grounds," Reo looked to me.
"I shall accompany you," Zofrin offered.
"No, it is too dangerous. You could be killed." Reo turned away and grabbed my shoulder. He could protect one mortal with him among demons but two was asking for death. I had seen the reaction of the other Demons as we passed them yesterday and I could only imagine what they could be when we returned.
