Her beauty glistens on a still and silent pond. Her grace heartens all around. Shining brilliantly in the oblivion, she consumes the attentions of us all. High in the sky she stays, every night. Even during the bright and sunny days she remains above the clouds. No tears may she cry, for no eyes hath she. No face at all, but more craters than I can count. Her glory is unique, but known to all far and wide. She longs to be with the children of Earth, but must remain, solitary, overtop of the horizon, away from the ones she loves. Yearning to be with us, she attracts and repels the seas of our world. The animals of the night sing love songs for her entertainment, but they too must slumber under her silver rays. Then, she is by herself once more.
As I lay in the dewey midnight grass, I look up at her. All the stress of my life melts away as she 'smiles' down at me from the heavens. A new day will bring love and hate, joy and depression, ecstasy and pain and anger. But, each might as I gaze up in awe, she reminds me that it could be worse...
