Many members have noticed lately that there has been a deluge of blogs being featured on the homepage with content repeated from earlier blogs or broken into a series of single paragraph "chapters". I have reversed the decision to feature some of these blogs so that the homepage would have just a select few.

News admins are expected (but not required) to give a reason as to why the blog was accepted or rejected. Some do so, but other admins have been anonymously accepting blogs for whatever reason (possibly favoritism). Be aware that I do log the action, so I can see who has been accepting each of the blogs (or even rejecting ones that others feel should be accepted), should I choose to do so. Please use some more discretion, or I will reconsider who the news admins are.

For those writing blogs that may have repeated content: This weekend, I will be adding a blog search feature to the website so that one can see what already exists and possibly comment on existing blogs instead of writing a new one.

For those trying to flood the homepage with a series of single paragraph tutorials or shorts stories just a few minutes apart, I am going to start rejecting anything beyond just the first one so that other members will have a chance to be heard. If members are interested in your content, they can click to your profile and see the other items.

I think the featured blogs are a great opportunity for budding writers or journalists to practice for a future career, so I will do all I can to help keep expanding this aspect of membership. Also, be aware that I have been trying help Google quickly index all blogs in the search engine. In many case, blogs will show in search results within a day.
