The future Reo waved away the real Reo's comment, "This man has lied to you, Zurilod." The real Reo tackled the future one and held a knife to his throat.
"I will kill you if you speak again!" Reo threatened.
I hauled the real Reo off of him. I felt like a parent repremanding two children. "Enough! Tell me what's going on."
The future got to his feet and brushed himself off. "I am the future of your Reo."
The real Reo exhaled, "It is true."
"How? What happens?" I could not believe this.
Reo looked at me. "I kill you. This runeblade," he said drawing the sword, "is very much like Frostmourne. It hungers for souls-- for power! You are the most powerful being I know. It persuades me to destroy you." Reo gulped. "I go to Northrend and I live there...I-...I mourn you. I decide to kill myself...and become this," he gestured towards the future Reo.
"But you can change the future! We did it with Darin!" I exclaimed.
"You see, every step you take leads you and the future of me on a different path. If you die, the chain is broken and everything starts over," the future Reo explained. "At your death, you send me back in time. I am the one who shot Darin's father with the arrow. Do you remember? You tossed him the orb from the Caverns of Time to him which sent him to the future--to you."
Everything made sense. The Bloodspire exsisted over ten thousand years ago. I never new what had happened to Darin after I threw him the orb. He was transported through time 10,000 years into the future. If that had not happened, I would never have become a death knight, or, at least, I would have been killed by the beasts of Northrend or another death knight.
"But why do you not cast aside the blade?" The answer could be simple enough.
"I need it...My true immortality cannot be returned. Just promise me, if I attack you, kill me." The real Reo stared at me.
