It was a normal Tuesday, i stopped at the coffee shop after work as always. Work at the police station had been hard because of the recent criminal activitys. I saw murder left in right. There were reports of robbery. And many criminals were on the run. I walked into the shop. I sat at my normal seat. "Hey." A guy beside me said. I looked over to see a guy, my age. I'd never seen him around. "You new in town? I haven't seen you around." I said examining his appearance. He was short and had extremely green eyes. They seemed to glow. "Yeah. I'm new. I moved in awhile ago." He said. "Where did you move from?" I asked. He seemed to struggle responding. "Far away."He said plainly. The tv flashed on. Another murderer on the run. "What do you think of those murders recently?" I said to him. "A shame." He said, even though it seemed he didn't care at all. The rest of the time he was silent, and after he'd left i thought he was pretty normal. We started meeting every monday and became close friends. The next day i met him, he was there earlier than usual. "Hey."He said tiredly as i slipped into my normal chair. "You're here early" i said chuckling. "Yeah." He said, with no clear emotion in his voice. "What do you think... is the perfect murder?" He asked. I laughed thinking it was a joke. "Why, an axe murder."I said, laughing. "Yeah." He said silently. "I've got to go" He said getting up and leaving. I watched him. "Whats up with him?" I thought sipping my coffee. The next day, he came in, seeming confident, proud of himself. "Hey."He said and sat down. "What's up with you?" I asked wondering. "Nothing."He said smirking. He turned and read. I looked at two truckers chatting. "Did you hear of that murder?"He said. "Yeah, pretty strange." The trucker said. I cut in. "Excuse me..what murder?"I said. "You haven't heard?"The first trucker said. "A shame"The other said. "A guy was killed. And with an axe!"He said.
I thought of the conversation i had yesterday.
To be continued...
