"Damned monster," Darin grunted sprawled on the floor.
"I should--" Reo growled but stopped. His eyes widened and he turned quickly. "I feel...an immense power." I looked around the room. Reo started for the two hge wooden doors and threw them open. The ground rummbled and Reo charged out the door. I ran after him but another huge crevass opened at my feet. I lunged over the opening but missed. I scrabbled at the snowy edge and let out a cry of frustration. Darin, on the back of Zofrin in the form of an owl, came up behind me and snatched me from the edge.
"You're welcome," Darin said down at me. I growled. Leviden shadowstepped over the crevass and appeared on the other side. Zofrin released me from his talons and Darin jumped from his back. The druid shifted back to his human form.
"Reondalis...He's not my paladin savior anymore is he?" Leviden looked off into the distance where Reo ran.
"I- I don't know. What spooked him?" I said. Leviden obviously still loved Reo.
"I sensed the power, too. Maybe he was mortal for too long." she said.
Darin caughed behind me, "I can find him." I squinted at Darin who held a hand to the sky and a great beam of light appeared. Two dragons, one bronze protodrake and a black Nehtherwing drake, landed.
The black Netherwing cocked his head at me and looked me in the eye. "I am yours, master." Darin mounted the proto-drake and scratched it scaly hide. "What shall you call me?" I thought about it for a moment.
"Nightwhisper," I said in my mind. It seemed proper for such a manificent beast. I mounted the creature.
"I accept," said the dragon. "Where you like me to take you?"
"Can you find the one called Reondalis?"
"The name brings back memories. Reondalis was the one to raise me in the Nether." The dragon took to the skies and Darin on his follwed with Leviden on Zofrin's owl form not far behind.
