A computer virus is being sent by automated email sysems. If you recieve an email that has to do with Osama BinLaden being captured and hung, DELETE IT IMEDIATLY, DO NOT OPEN IT It contains a virus that will permanetly destroy your computer.
This virus was discovered yesterday by McAffe. ALSO, if you recieve an email with the subject: Invitation
DO NOT OPEN, EVEN IF ITS FROM YOUR GRANDMA, this is a trick email, it is NOT from who it says its from. This email spam contains the same virus that will kill your computer instantly.
Thankyou for reading this, I hope I saved some lives out there.
it doesnt matter how it started, i just want it to stop. its a stupid debate, you know what, if you know-it-alls want to take a chance, GO AHEAD, its not my loss.
IT DOESNT MATTER ABOUT WHAT CAN OR CANT HAPPEN ON A DSI OR MAC, ITS BETTER SAFE OR SORRY, END OF STORY.
jeez, i write a blog to save your people's computer, and i get a debate. THANKS ALOT. ill remember that.
Dude, the DSi Browser doesn't mean it can or cannot get a virus. The DSi Browser also has cookies and that virus might save into a cookie. (Unless you delete your cookies xP)
And also Commander is that really true about your step-dad, perhaps he has a very good sense or humor but...
1. Apple computers use different binaries from PC so generally they are not affected by most viruses as PCs are targeted more
2. Emails are text, or HTML they can't do a lot. You would have to be stupid to open the attachment. However, spammers can use HTML to identify valid accounts so don't download images unless you're certian.
3. If it destroys your computer, how does your grandma email it (unless shes a evil virus maker and she made it)?
The DSi as it is can not get a virus through the web browser. It can only download webpage files and run javascript in them, which can't do a lot of damage. If a website uses JS to annoy you, just power off the DS and don't visit the site again.
The browser can't change any DS data except for its 99 blocks of memory for storing favourites etc. (and on the SD card I believe) so it can't affect the system.
As for modded systems, more fool you if you get it to run a malicious program.
GUYS , my stepdad is a computer scientist, you know-it-alls better button your lips, because i showed them these comments, and some of them he couldnt stop laughing.
this virus has been found to effect Macs and even most portable electronics as well. please dont take a chance, although the dsi is immune to most viruses, this is a new virus, it may harm the dsi too.
