RYHME IS CATCHY-Try putting ryhmes in your poems! It sounds good and catchy!
NOT ALL POETRY HAS TO RYHME THOUGH- Theres a poetry called "Free Verse" meaning poetry without ryhme
BE DEEP-Think of powerful themes and meanings in your poem! Think of themes like "Money isn't happiness"or "Love is unconditonal" or " "The good will destroy the evil" or "All those lost may one day be found"...or something but give it a powerful meaning if you want it to be intresting!
DO IT FROM YOUR HEART-Do you like poetry or want to express your feelings? Or do you do it for fame,attention and praise? Poetry comes from your heart,mind and feelings. Write poetry if you want to express yourself or yourself as someone else! Not for fame and attention! If you don't like it,you don't have to do it!
OUTSIDE THE REAL WORLD-Some poetry can be abstract in a way.You don't have to try though. Clear your thoughts on how the world runs or the comman sense of life and imagine yourself in a different world with diffrent things....!For a abstract image! But come down to Earth after you finished writing so you don't lose yourself! Some people won't understand it but open-minded people with imagination will! Remember:Be creative and have imagination!
FORGET THE HATERS:If there are critics who crtisize your poetry,ignore it! As long as you like yours! Who knows...one may not like it but someone else might!
PRACTICE-Do you feel like your poetry isn't very good? Practice so you can improve! Don't give up if you love poetry!
MAKE SENSE:Make sure your poetry makes sense at a point and not just scrambled intresting words like darkness,evil,broken heart,light,dark angel,purity etc all over it! It may sound intresting but it needs meaning! Make sure you know what your writing! It must sound intresting but it nees meaning we can try to understand! Don't just put big words to boast on your high vocabulary! BE NATURAL!
