This chapter begins with Mifune chatising Hanzoû of the Salamander on the fact that his skills had declined in the latter part of his life, compared to his youth, and now that he's been ressurected, Mifune is certain of that. Mifune then goes on to remind Hanzoû who he was when he had fough the legendary Hanzoû in the past. The flashback shows of Mifune's defeat at Hanzou's hands. Mifune believes that he lost due to his Samurai sword, and he himself after comparing people to swords, was dull. Hanzoû refutes this saying that Mifune wasn't dull, otherwise he'd have run from fear of Hanzoû's power like his friends. He states "Life doesn't end when you die. It ends when you lose faith." He goes on to state that he believes he can bring about peace in the Ninja World, and puts his faith in Mifune, and spares his life, after which Mifune asks him to leave the rest of the samurai alone. After this, Hanzou reveals the way to defeat him in his immortal, resurrected body: because he implanted a poisonous sac of a salamander into his body as a youth in order to gain resistance to poisons, cutting open that sac will give the Allied Shinobi Forces enough time to seal him away while his body is immobilized. Mifune says he expected nothing less from the man who, though misplaced it for a while, "Never lost his faith" Hanzou is then sealed.
The scene then switches to Ino, Shikamaru and Choji being forced to fight their controlled, ressurected sensei, ending with Choji being unable to do so.
