Due to complaints of accounts being compromised lately, I ran an audit of account passwords. Although passwords are encrypted to keep them hidden, I was able to correctly guess that some members have "password", "Password", "password1", or some variant of those. Additionally, I was able to guess that several more members have their usernames as their passwords. The search for these criteria resulted in 512 matches. Because of this, I will be implementing a new password policy. Any accounts that keep those weak passwords (just the ones listed above) will be disabled at the end of the month.
The settings page has been changed to require stronger passwords going forward, checking for the following requirements: 8 character minimum, at least 1 capital letter, at least 1 lower case letter, and at least 1 number.
Please change your password as soon as you can if it does not meet these criteria to lessen the chance of someone guessing your account login. If you do not change your password, then you are proceeding at your own risk.
Also, to prevent someone from gaining access to your account, the following are good guidelines to observe:
1. Never give out your passwords to any other websites that could be the same as here.
2. Always fully log out when finished if you're using the same computer/device as someone else.
3. Never give someone access to your email where the password could be retrieved at will.
sadly i didnt listn the next day i was hacked so soon or later i8 started admin begging sum mor after my account was 'unhacked' aka password change and username capitilazation change
