You decide to continue following the man, he’s the only thing you got. You get to the end of the vent and you climb out into a moderately sized room. There is a small table in the middle and a few pads on the floor as makeshift beds. The stranger hands you a hard candy in a wrapper. “Eat it” he says, “it’ll nourish you” You unwrap the brown candy and eat it. Your taste buds immediately reject the taste and you try to spit it out. “I know it tastes bad but its good for you, just eat it” you manage to keep it down and within minutes you feel a bit stronger than before. “So,” says the man, “you touch the TV too?” “Um, yea, what are those anyway?” you ask. “A sick recruiting device, it’s made to wonder you, then, it takes you to a place to weaken you so that when you touch the second one, joining the military here seems like the only way to go”. “Wow” you whisper to yourself “so are you like a refugee or something?” “Yep, I escaped early and found this abandoned room in here to live in. At night I go out and take food from the mess hall and that’s how I live but it’s better than joining those guys in their stupid goose chase.” As you are taking all of this in you hear a banging in the vents and before you know it you see 2 big red aliens standing before you with pistols in their hands. “Well look who it is!” one of them said with a need for revenge in his voice. “I thought I’d never find you and who’s this? Oh it’s the newbie from earlier. Looks like its time for you two to die here together, how sweet.” The refugee jumped in the air and kicked one of them on the side of his face. He was out cold on the ground. The other one pointed his gun at him and he quickly rolled and kicked it out of his hand from the floor, then hit him on the back of the head to knock him out. “Nice footwork” you compliment. The refugee smiled for the first time in years. Just as you thought you were in the clear, the refugee took a shot to the head from the first alien’s gun, and before you knew it I had a smoking hole right through your heart
