to be afraid to die?
to wonder why?
to want to fly?

to want to yearn
for more to learn?
to want to earn
a delightful fern?

to need to know
more than my foe?
to to see my toe
create a glow?

to want to hoard
the thousandth cord?
to leave a board
in a car that's floored?

to want to roar
below the floor?
to want to help more
with those who are poor?

So, Who am I
to be afraid to die?
to wonder why?
to want to fly?

I am me
that's all I can be
and resist the plea
to not be me
