The Rainbow Gem

Part 3

It was at that moment Yusei lost control. Yusei glared at the Scyther, who still had the nerve to charge at him. Big mistake. Closing his eyes, he concentrated on the lava. Lava snakes rose from its surface and latched onto the Scythers feet and claws, trying to pull it in.

"That, however, is a much harder task than getting it in the first place," said Crystal.

"Yusei, stop it!" I said, but he couldn't hear me. More snakes rose from the surface. One wrapped itself around the Scyther's neck and squeezed. Others poked holes through his wings. I jumped at Yusei but another lava snake wrapped itself around me and cooled. The Scyther begged to be released. It pleaded for mercy. But Yusei was beyond reason. The snakes continued to choke him and pulled him into the lava.

"Umbreon, STOP! I'LL DO ANYTHING YOU WANT!" said the Scyther, which were the first words I could hear from him.

"Too late." he said, but his voice was much deeper.

"PLEASE!" said the Scyther, who was already lit on fire from the lava.

"No."

That was it. The Scyther was buried under lava. It was dead.

"If they don't master that ability..."

With that, the lava binding me to the floor broke into tiny pieces and crumbled away. I quickly ran to Yusei to see what had come over him.

"...they don't get to remember what happened."
~~~~~
The orange glow of the gem was starting to fade. Yusei's rings and eyes were all glowing orange too, but that was also starting to fade. "Chris... what happened?"

"A Scyther just got burned to its death."

"Plus, as soon as it wears off, the body will be affected as it normally would with that element..."
~~~~~
Suddenly, I felt a burning sensation all over the outside of my body.

"...and if that's negative, it could overwhelm the creature's body..."
~~~~~
It suddenly spread to the inside of my body. It was absorbing lava. And I was losing consciousness. "Ch... Chris... h-help me..."

"...and it could kill them."
