As you should know by now, the 3DS has not one, not two, not four, but THREE cameras.
The twin camera lenses in the front produce the stereoscopic image that creates the 3D effect, therefore, adding AMAZING depth, rather than 3D, into the image.
The third camera is a single camera above the top screen that if for adding your own face.
The three combined camera eyes do a lot more than the DSi cameras, but not everything the DSi cameras did.
I recently discovered that the cameras are more "alive". They can focus(auto or manual), they can zoom in and out, but not very far, they can also be used in low light conditions easily.
There is also a timer/voice command shutter, so that you can be included in the picture, or take a 3D picture of yourself.
The camera also comes with a few effects, and face mergeing.
Merging uses all the cameras simultaneously, making it easy to capture both faces at the same time.
The other cool thing, launching the camera is a breeze. It goes STRAIGHT to the camera upon launching the app. No more pre-snapshot settings. And the photos are all nice and organized in thumbnails rather than a single-row line.
The catch:
The cameras are not as fun as the DSi cameras. The cameras lack most of the effects that the DSi cameras had. But to me, it's worth it.
I give the cameras a 9.99
