Minecraft has recently been updated. For those of you who don't know what Minecraft is, Minecraft is a sandbox survival game which takes place on an infinite pseudo-randomly generated world.

New Features:
• Weather
• Biome-compliant grass sides
• New minecart rail types
• Achievements/Statistics
• Various bug fixes

Weather:
This new feature allows it to rain and snow on your world. Rain darkens the sky, puts out fires, grows crops, prevents mobs from burning and shoots bolts of lightning.

When lightning strikes, it sets the blocks it comes in contact with on fire. Also, if lightning hits a creeper, it becomes electrified and will have 2x the explosion power. When a pig is struck by lightning however, it becomes a Zombie Pigman.

Snow turns uncovered water into ice and covers blocks in snow.

Biome-Compliant Grass Sides:
Now, if your graphics are set to "Fancy", the sides of your grass will have the correct color specific to its biome.

New Minecart Rails:
Now, you can construct booster and detector rails. Booster rails launch your minecart forward/brake them, depending on the redstone current. Detector rails activate a redstone current.

Also, as an added bonus, killing pigs with fire gives cooked porkchops.

Achievements/Statistics:
Now, the game has these cute little things that congratulate you for doing simple tasks. Achievements essentially act like a tutorial by telling you what to do. More will be added periodically.

Statistics however, record the amount of times you've done a certain action such as punching logs or mining diamonds.

For now, achievements and statistics are not synced to your account.
