Okay, you may be thinking "Wow this is random and I couldn't care less". It's true, this may not help you in your life at all. I just wanted to say something on religions. I do not mean to offend people with this blog.
It's your choice of what you want to believe in. I believe religion is good, and I believe in God. Some people only believe in God because they don't want to take chances. Some people just think it's a bunch of mumbo jumbo. Well, it all depends on you.
I think people choose religions because they are in need of something to believe in, in some cases. Like Japan. After the earthquake, many people might've gone searching for things to believe in that they can put their trust in. They might've lost many family members in the earthquake, so they needed something to trust. Some people find the right person (God). And others, not so.
"Alright, if God is so nice like everybody says he is, why would he let something as terrible as this earthquake happen to Japan."
Well, God has his reasons. He is peaceful, and he does not want to see his children hurt. He loves us. Possibly, he did it so people would find him. As I mentioned above, looking for someone to believe in. Or maybe they were just too sinful.
Now, I want to get into something else. Terrorism. Like Osama Bin Laden and the Al Qaeda. Because of what they believe in, is why they bomb places and such. In their religion, dying doing what they believe in is an honor. That's why people agree to suicide bombs. Now don't get me wrong. I am not saying this is right. This is very wrong.
Now, I'd like to say a thing or two about why I continue to believe in God. A lot of the time, I find myself thinking, Okay, what if there isn't a God? Why am I wasting my time? All through my troubles, nobody helped me? Then I am reassured. The main reason all that instantly goes away is because I am surrounded by a Christian environment. I go to a Christian school, and my whole family is Christian. Taking one look at their faith, it all goes away.
Another thing that helps, is remembering all the times i have felt good. All those times when I knew that there was someone watching out for me. When I knew that all the good stuff, wasn't just randomly there.
Here's another thing. The Big Bang? Impossible. You find it hard to imagine there was darkness then BOOM, a whole planet of organisms. I like to imagine the world was like a puzzle piece, and one by one God put it together.
And referring back to what I said before, why didn't this so-called God give me everything I wanted? As I said, God has his own reasons. And there is a difference between WANT and NEED. You don't need the 3DS. You don't NEED a XBOX 360. You want all those earthly possessions. You need food. You need shelter. You need water. In the Bible, God said, "I will give you everything you need."
I think this is long enough. Just keep this in mind if you ever decide to choose a religion. God bless you.
Interesting, in-depth take on the subject. Well said. I've my own objections to religion, and I don't believe in a god. No offense to you.
I would like to point out that "right" and "wrong" are perspective. "That's why people agree to suicide bombs. Now don't get me wrong. I am not saying this is right. This is very wrong. "
And i believe in the Big Bang, and the theory of evolution.
