Some of you may have heard of a new Nintendo DSi system called "DSi XL" I recently heard about this new Nintendo system rumor and was shocked! It has not even been a year since the new Release of Nintendo's DSi system to America last April. "What more could be added?" i thought. "Why so soon?" I did some research online and have gathered many different conclusions regarding the truth of the matter. There is some speculation that this is a hoax, but many sites still claim a Japanese release around November 21st 2009. I guess we will have to wait until it is confirmed.

The DSi XL, as the name implies is mainly an overgrown DSi system. The Screens are bigger, the stylus is longer. A plus side is the charger cord is able to be used with a regular DSi system, which is a first for Nintendo. It also has a longer battery life than a regular DSi suprisingly because of its size. The new System also comes pre-loaded with the ever popular Flipnote Studio application, and a few Brain age series games. It also comes with a Dictionary application. Not much is know about this new system, or even if it will have Flash for streaming videos online, which is one of the main reasons i [and many others] bought my DSi. All in all, this system so far proves nothing more than an amped up version of its little brother and hardly worth buying if you have already purchased a DSi system. But, who knows what more new features will be added, only time will tell...

I have a Dsi xl, im on it now. So my battery really lasts longer than a normal dsi? Awesome! Its sad because after your use to the xl (even after a minute!) the smaller systems look like baby dsi's for as long as youll remember. Lol! Do you think the 3ds will be as big as the xl? i hope so, i cant stand small ones anymore!

This dsixl has a store, a camera, a web browser, a new way to record, and sd card slot. Just no gba slot.

i was told it had flash player so i got it and well... it doesnt - oh well like the new bigger screen - makes it easyer to type and draw

I`ll buy it. I did some researech and the they said it will about the same price. You can buy a bigger pen a the store that slide to ur perfered size, which is what I`m using

Well, I was doing a little bit of research myself after hearing about this, and it seems to be a hoax. They are not really releasing it. Nintendo says that they do not deny that they were thinking about releasing it, but they don't approve. I think Neikki started this all (with a very short and unexplaining article) so that Nintendo will get the idea to make it and decide to. This is my own personal opinion, believe what you want.

I like to call the DSi XL the DSii.
ii=2 and ii fits in with Wii.
I thought it was pretty clever if I do say so myself.

They think this way PSP fanboys will get a DSi XL instead of PSP Go. The DSi is only 1 year in Japan and there already making a new one...

doesnt sound like much. it would be different if it streamed videos, had mp3 capability, and longer battery life.......but oh welll.

From what I understand, the Nintendo DSi XL has nothing more than a larger screen and larger stylus. That way the older audience will have an easier time seeing and interacting with the screens. The target demographic here is middle age to elderly (i.e. the biggest buyers of the Brain Age series).
