After reading too many blogs and even declining multiple ones about 'role playing', I figured it's time to step in here and say how it is on this site.

For some reason, it seems some people don't understand the difference between 'role playing' and 'cybering'. 'Role playing' is when you act as if you are the person or thing. There are games called 'Role Playing Games', RPG for short, that allow you to do just this. Some examples of these games would be all of the Final Fantasy series, TMJ, WoW, and even Zelda games, where you get to take on the role of Link! The best description of 'cybering' would be anything you see happen in the TV show 'Two and a Half Men'.

'Role playing' is not against any rules on this site. If it is something that allows you to enjoy your time on this site, then go for it. Just keep your clothes on and you should be fine. When people RP in the chatrooms, it just means they are using their imagination instead of using a video game.

Unlike 'role playing', there are rules against cybering, so if the role playing leads to that, expect to be smacked by the justice of a 'Ban Hammer of Awesomeness'.

So, whether you are LARPing, RPing, MMORPGing (as long as you're not playing Horde!), or sitting around playing Dungeons and Dragons, you are a dork, but a dork that is not doing anything wrong.
