Sexuality has always been a controversial topic in today's era..why?
The awnser is simple:Not everyone today has accepted it.
In fact, lots of people still view homosexuality and bisexuality in a prejudiced way, even in today's world.
Most people believe that homosexuality is a choice, which,I don't necessarily disagree with, but the fact is, it really isn't.
The truth is that some people are actually born with a hormone imbalance which may result in attraction to the same sex, which was the case with me I believe, because, trust me, no sane human would choose this life, what most people don't understand is that people of the homosexuality or biseexuality orientation are discriminated, mocked, tormented,or even beaten daily simply because they're not "normal" Beating may sound extreme, but trust me...it happens.
Now on the religious side of things, some christians have a nasty habit of taking words in the bible and completly twisting them to fit their own agenda, Why do you think their are so many versions of the bible?
Also, People in that era didn't know about the sciences that we know today, and as a result, were much more harsh.
The sooner the world accepts homosexuality and bisexuality as a whole...the better,
Until next time-Colton
sounds right but it's not. Modern psychologists have proven that it is a mental issue that roots from the feeling of being unloved or unnoticed. Not hating, but you might want to check your sources. I am a Christian, and actually through my studies, I know that they did not 'know about the sciences we know today' but, God had told us that it was wrong. We disobeyed and all sorts of disease pollutes our gene pool. The 'sciences we know today' only back up His command. I mean, God destroyed two cities because of the sexual impurity there. If you don't want to be looked down upon, don't do it to yourself. I see you as an equal human being and I admire your courage to speak out against the majority, but are you doing it because you want to, or because it will give you attention?
yes,it IS getting better, the percentage of homosexually oriented people have gone up since then because,I believe people are simply not afraid they'll get stoned or beaten etc.anymore
Let me start of with saying I'm Christian. I don't disagree with one being attracted to the opposite sex, so there are some Christians who are like that. I actually think it's more so the public that is harsh as we were taught to love the person for what they are, and not just what they do.
You mention in the blog that prejudice was worse in the past... isn't this just a sign of things getting better? In fact- People, as I'm writing this, are trying to make it legal for gay marriage in Australia.
There are always going to be prejudice towards bi/gays in this world. Just like there is always going to be hate.
But, like I said before... it is getting better. I'd like to say sorry to those who have lost there lives in this, my hope goes out to those.
... BUT, until then just imbrace who you are. [:
