TRIPLE BANANA:
This basicly gives you three bananas that float behind you until you use them. They provide an exellent defense from shells and opponents.
Tips-
-When you are ready to set them on the track, be sure to spread them out to maximize the chances of them being hit.
FAKE ITEM BOX:
This item in some ways is better than the banana. It causes the driver to flip over when hit, and is disguised as an item box.
Tips-
-Place them in areas where they can not be easily seen (ex: on top of a real item box or a boost pad).
-Do not use this item as a defense, because items such as shells will go right through it.
MUSHROOM:
These are common items that give a driver a short burst of speed. Many shortcuts in the game require mushrooms to access them.
Tips-
-During the burst of speed from a mushroom, it is possible to drive off track (on dirt, grass, etc.) and not lose any speed whatsoever. On tracks such as Delfino Isle or Desert Hills, you can use the mushroom to cut across the dirt.
