This is an update version of my original blog which I have deleted. This blog is meant to create a more appropriate proposal that appeals to a wider spectrum than before. This system would be used by the site Overlords to elect admins. This is simply an idea which I wish to recieve feedback on. I simply wish to see how members would react to such a system going into effect.

I am writing this blog on behaf of many members who agree with me.

DSiPaint has had lots of Administrators over the years, some, have been good, others...far less than that.

Therefore, I propose a set system for the election of administration for the site. This system would allow members to be chosen who are truely deserving of their positions.

This is just an idea, but I do think a similar system should be put into place for the site:

#1: Look at the user's number of bans. If they have more than ten serious bans, they should be more closely watched when they are elcted admin.

#2: Look at the user's level of activity on the site. An administrator should be active on the site for at least for days a week.

#3 (in my opinion, the most crucial point) Observe said member for a week. Watch their level of maturity, and how they act in chat. Make sure that this member can be considered a role model. While many don't agree, this site's leadership should have a higher level of Maturity than most users. While Maturity for some positions doesn't matter (Paintmin/Saviimin etc. it does matter for Chatmid, Blogmin, and Secretary.

#4: Is the user often active in said field of the site? The user's promotion should match the area of the site that they are most active in.

#5: While biases do exist, current administrators should have the right to provide feedback, HOWEVER, the choice should not rest soley on the administrator's choice, but the one the the Overlords consider fit. The admins would not choose the people! They woiuld simply provide feedback on the user,


While I know a system may currently exist, I believe that it could be refined so that many more members of a higher maturity level could be elected to site leadership as role models, instead of "members with power".

This blog is not intentionally directed towards any admin, former admin, or member, and I did not intentionally mean to offend anyone. This is simply many members speaking out about something they wish should be done.
