Ahh, a fresh rant before I go to bed. It might help me sleep better.
So last Wednsday, I tubed down the Sacco River. Pretty relaxing. The water was perfectly clear, with nothing in it. Hell, I could bottle the water amd sell it as "Fresh Spring Water"! But as I tubes down, what did I see? An empty beer bottle!
I'm not one of those pollution nuts, but really, are people that too lazy to keep it in their tube/kayak/canoe etc.? Or, at the VERY least, put it in the forest adjacent to the river? And I don't even mind trash elsewhere. I don't care much if it's in the forest, sidewalk, or my house. It just bugs me when someone goes ahead and partially ruins one of the very few landmasses that's untouched.
Let me put it this way: Would you rather drop a candy bar in your backyard, or your bed? Hopefully, you picked the trash can.
And if your one of the people that say, "Oh, well, someone will pick it up for me. They always do.", then what if everyone though like this? Then no one would pick up your trash! Seriously, is it that hard to keep the trash with you until you find a garbage can? Are you carrying so much stuff that you can't fit one potato chip bag into your pocket? Sometimes the laziness of some people really surprises me. I don't want to swim in a river where there is a couple of beer bottles, maybe with the beer still in it! And I don't think you would want to, either...
So next time you have a piece of garbage, for the sake of everyone, please take a tiny chunk of time to throw it out!
I agree.. is it really that hard to walk a few extra feet to throw something in the garbage can. There's so much litter everywhere and the only time people clean it up is earth day.. when we should be doing it every day. Great, now I feel like running around outside and picking up litter..
I'm very passionate about this, believe it or not. I hate littering, it's lazy and it ruins the appearances of areas. If everybody just stopped literring and got off their lazy ass to walk to a bin, it would make so much difference.
