"Kiko, you've gotta be kidding!" I insisted "I have to go!"
"Fallyn, I'm sorry, but Marco refuses to have any pixies near his base under the age of sixteen." Kiki sighed.
"But she turns sixteen next month." Vergil protested "Surely you can just tell Marci she is."
"But it's obvious she's not." Jason pointed out "She doesn't have wings." Vergil gave him a look that could've killed birds on midair. Unfortunately, Jason was not a bird in midair, even though at the moment I wished he was.
"I'm not trying to be unhelpful." Jason assured us "I'm just pointing it out." Colby gave a loud croak of protest.
"Kiko, I HAVE to go!" I insisted. None of us were really paying attention to Anna-Marie, who was now unconcious.
"She's right, Kiko." Shadow agreed "Fallyn's our best demon fighter." I gave Kiko a triumphant look,
"See?" I said "They need me."
"Fallyn, you are fifteen." Kiko said "By mundane standards, you aren't even old
enough to be an Assassin."
"Then it's a good thing I'm no mundane!" I shouted. Kiko's face turned hard and cold as stone.
"Now, Fallyn you listen to me." Kiko hissed.
"No, you listen to me." I snapped. I didn't know why I was being so difficult. I mean, yeah I have a rep for being stubborn, but this was ridiculous. Even for me.
"I am not a child." I said, angrily. "I'll be
sixteen in a month. All we have to do is convince Marco I can do it, right? These big outbreaks take time anyway. By the time we have enough information to launch an attack on the source, a month will have passed and I'll be sixteen. Please, Kiko. I'll be nicer to Anna-Marie. I'll stop provoking her... Just, please. If my team is going, I should too." Kiko
hesitated. She seemed to be weighing her options.
"I'll see what I can do." She sighed "But, Fallyn, you might have to stay."
"If we've got a shot, then we take it, right?" I said. Kiki rolled her eyes and walked away.
"She," Lukas said, giving me a pointed look "Is one stubborn little pixie." I shrugged.
"It's a gift." I sighed.
"Is she always so..." Spencer began
"Pig-headed?" Dillon finished.
"Normally, she'd have been screaming her lungs out in a straight up tantrum." Shadow mused. He turned to me "I didn't see that today." I shrugged again.
"It didn't seem like it would do any good." I admitted.
"Smarter than she looks." Jason chuckled.
I shot him a glare.
"Are you saying I look-" I began. I was cut off by a loud BANG! The ceiling above us started to shake.
If I got buried again, I was going to hit something.
