It's time to pull out some information about what people say and do regarding respect and beliefs. Let's see... It was here a second ago.
To start, I want to point out what people tend to say, and I might add it's used a lot. It's something like this: "Respect my beliefs and I'll respect yours." It seems like a reasonable plan to many, but why not respect someone else's beliefs anyway? It only gives one user the option of coming back will full force in some wild animosity. There should be no conditions or strings attached. Unless you have an obsession with string.
I've also noticed that users say this and don't seem to mean it. It's apparently only to make them seem rational. However, they'll come back next time only to start reproaching another user. Come on! If you're going to say something, don't fall short of it.
Furthermore, this is the internet. And let's face it, people think it's okay to be less considerate online. While there could be artifical intelligence chatting, the users are people too. Think twice before posting something nasty (Or more than twice, depending on how long it takes you to reset your thoughts) aimed at someone else.
You may have said your "Ick"s and "Ack"s out of dissatisfaction over the situations presented, but really, it's pretty sad to have to rant about this. I don't expect this to solve the problem completely, but at least a few will either be educated or straightened out.
