The table and the rest of us were silent as Reo the Elder said this. We all knew that a greater force, specificaly Dalion the Puppet Master, controlled Darin and could bring him back to life as he'd done several times before.
"Someone aproaches," Syrce growled and we all turned to the long entrance Syrce had led me through that was once the small cave. I grabbed the hilt of my sword, ready to combat whatever entered.
"Excuse me," a voice called. "I seemed to have stumbled upon...wherever this is. I felt the magic..." It was a human. A human mage to be precise and judging by the tall water elemental that followed obediantly behind him. He was wearing a long robe with skulls stitched into the fabric and wore a hat that shaded his eyes. In his hand he carried a staff that did not seem to be made from ordinary wood.
"What are you doing here, mage?" Reo the Elder asked and Syrce stepped forward defensively with his chain.
The human glanced at Syrce and at me then back to Reo the Elder. "My name is Laerik, the archmage. I was simply exploring the area."
"We shall deal with you shortly." Reo the Elder turned to me again, "There may be a way to finally be rid of Darin... Dalion must die."
This made sense. Dalion was the one reserecting Darin over and over. You must stop the source to stop the flow.
