I've played nearly every Zelda title i could, all of them made with passion, with a smooth and bugless gameplay, even belonging to the same franchises every Zelda game has its originality, the most recent: Skyward Sword is literally superb.

Zelda is not only a good franchise, its the franchise that revolutionized open-world 3D environments and mechanics, i'm very happy to see even after 25 years it is still breaking records and impressing gamers, the gaming media and much more.

Of course, today there are also a lot of amazing franchises out there, no doubt about it, many with huge fanbases passioned by each game that is released, its also common to see "fanboy" fights about which franchise is better.

Its December, and while the end of 2011 approaches content about "the best game of the year" start to appear everywhere, G4's version is a Poll where fans vote, its called The Game Deathmatch where 2 games face eachother and the one with more votes goes to the next round, really interesting, right?


Ok, lets not be hypocrites here, that kind of poll is not about the "best game", its more about which fanbase is bigger and more passioned by it, everything points out that probably not even 30% of the total number of people who voted have played both games in question for a fair time, the clearest sample are the comment's in each of G4's deathmatch round pages.

Right now Skyrim is going against Zelda Skyward Sword, the Poll was going in a "fair" way, the way G4's allow the results to come, based in big fanbases and like many people say "faboyism" and not real judgment from people who played Both games.

Until Bethesda, The elder Scrolls: Skyrim developer did this:

Yes, as you can see Bethesda posted a Link to the poll in their official The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim website, making an huge mass of people vote in their game at G4's website, i don't know about you but i see that as incredibly Low.

Couldn't they let the fanbases have a fair fight?

Right. Zelda got a lot of fansites which are supporting the poll, but is not what this Poll is about? I bet Skyrim got fansites too, but which side is bigger ? which side is more organized? Not being a hypocrite here, this is the only way to compete in G4's game match in a fair way, because the percentage of real judgmental votes there is irrelevant.

I hope before you vote, if you are not someone who have played both games for fair time, you take consideration the work that was put in both games, how big and how innovative is each franchise, and how developers show their passion to the game, and take into account Bethesda's action might be considered "cheating" on this game.
