A Unique View of Dating and Highschool

Savii I will ask that a certain blogmin not choose to accept/decline this as he has a very large amount of bias agaisnt my view on this topic. You know who you are.

In light of several blogs lately of people giving advice on "how to get a girl" I thought I would share an interesting view I had about:

Dating and Highschool

This is just an opinion, but hear me out for a couple sentences.

Highschool is an absolutely amazing part of your life. Most likely, some of your best memories will be from highschool.

You're still growing up and changing, and aren't quite yet a mature adult.

So here's my view...

Why bother wasting your time on a relationship sparked by hormones with a person whom you "like" and won't see after Senior year. I always hear people say "oh she's hot I'll date her" or "I date just because"

Really? Why waste time on someone who you know you'll just break up with in the end.

I don't date, I'm in High School. Why? Because why bother with misguided a false love fueled by hormone changes when a relationship with someone you truely love will give you so much more.

I'd rather wait another year or two and meet someone with whom I could truely spend the rest of my life with, and then invest in a true loving relationship.

I'm not saying you have to agree with me, and if you don't, before your stylus taps the dislike, think of it this way: Is my blog poor in content and have copious gramatical errors, or do you just dis agree with the view.

If you disagree, please post a response, as I am interested in trying to start a discussion using views from both POVs.

In a way, I can't agree more.

In another way, I slightly disagree. I have a girlfriend [im a guy, this is my friend's acct] that I've had a pretty continuous relationship with for a little over a year. Dating is about actually finding people you would possibly want to spend your life with. With my girlfriend, we were just friends until we actually knew who we were. Then we took the next step.

Most "couples", as they call themselves, today immediately start dating. A lot of times, they barely know each other to begin.

Just take it slowly, and you'll actually end up with a boy/girlfriend.

Hey has anyone else noticed that The Ram and Nope.Avi are obsessed about me? Sorry guys im not homo, but its very flattering that you take so much time out of your "life" for me. Heres the thing, if I don't like someone I ignore them, if I like to argue with them I annoy them. See I don't need an "internet life" because unlike you guys, people actually like me. Sorry I just put my vew on things, and don't give a damn about what some internet geek thinks of me. Ya the nerds at school don't like me, probably cuz I screw with them for fun. So why do you guys think I care about you soo much? I honestly love you. Wait, Mr.Gs being a hypocrit again. I like to be different then. I may be still young, but I'm positive, I have no lust for any of this. And hormones? I can't be bothered with that when my motives for living rather emotionless are for the best of me. Those motives could inflect my social life, but atleast I feel best about it.

And atleast I feel more mature about decisions I make, rather then, fixating on how to get close relationships with another being.

Not all teens are immature (most of them are xD).
I'm more mature than the average teen. Yes, I know I act like an immature idiot sometimes on this site xD but I'm alot more mature in real life. And one reason I hate school is the massive amount of immature irratating teenagers. Its hard to find decent friends, or maybe my social skills just suck xD So it kind of annoys me when people say all teens are immaure.

Finally, it's the end of the day, I've done all that I've needed to do. Besides, you're on here more than me.

But back to the topic at hand, it's mre than likely that not enough people are mature enough to handle a meaningful relationship. Even two people who both like each other, as is the case with me and someone, which certainly says something about ourselves if we're both willing to wait until later to consider ourselves "together".

At a young age, we don't understand the true meaning of love. So it's not good to date then. "Ye can spread yer rumors and others, but no datin'!" Of course not a single person at my school would agree with me, exept maybe the school counsellor.

That's pretty much what everyone else says.

Heres the part I don't want to offend anyone with. Most of you must not be liked very much, not being popular or not having anyone (that you like) like you can be harsh. Being mad and giving up on love is the wrong descision though. We all know theirs that person that can get us to do anything, and being in a relationship won't hurt you. It will make you happier, and try harder.

Teens cannot love, their sole purpose is to eat more than they should, never do any work, and reproduce. You think that you can love, but that's only because you are a teenager. Teens suffer from egocentrism, and what psychology has coined as "personal fable" and "imaginary audience." Quite simply, you're an idiot, you think you have feelings, and you think others actually care about said feelings but can never understand them. All teens are the same. You are not special. Bottom line, wait until your frontal lobe is fully developed before you make a big decision, son.

Also, it's funny that you brought this up. In my creative writing class, I'm actually writing a poem about this. I'll have to post it when I'm done ;D

I have to disagree to an extent.

I'm going to sound high and mighty here so prepair your self.


I am 14, but have the maturity of an adult [untill it comes to stuffed animals, then I have the maturity of an 8 year old] I have had a boyfried two years older then me for almost two years now, its been up and down but thats beside the point, you arn't reading this to find out about my love life. I think people like me who are more mature and not all over guys like cookies on a plate, its acceptable, but people that are just in it to ' Mess around ' should stop and think about it, and maybe slow down a little.

So my point is, if you're mature enough to handle it and are prepaired for a nonsexual lasting relationship its acceptable, if you're in it for fun it is not.

I agree for the most part, though I will say, some rather meaningful relationships can begin at that age. It's the majority that are bound to fail. I'm not gonna test my luck, I'm waiting until I'm older and have some sort of "life security", ie; I'm able to work with and co-support a partner.

I completely agree. I'm only in seventh grade, and I've seen way too much boyfriend, girlfriend gossip. Even though I'm a big flirt I don't date. I think dating was made to help find your life partner. If you're still a kid it's not going to last, all the way until adulthood.
It's just setting yourself up.

im 12 and have had a girlfriend for 6 months... I agree though because we both know how to be mature and not just mess around, but have a nice conversation not about sex or drugs or whatever. most people cant handle it though, i belive ive proven i can.
