Speaking of people not knowing what they're talking about, nice post, NillocSkywalker. Like I have stated and even linked sources, those things which you say are legal are not even close to being legal.
Try again.
flash carts are LEGAL. they are just unlicensed and hated by Nintendo, just like Homebrew channel for wii. support.nintendo.com lies alot, cause they say nintendo emulators are illegal, even though they're legal. even if nintendo was to try and fine ALL the people who downloaded the roms, then they woupd be doing the STUPID thing. thats millions of people on many sites. now, i dont think its right for people to sell the roms, for thats taking someones hard work and taking credit. and i also hate the chinese companys that make fake ds game cards, load a rom on a matching label on it, and sell it. but free roms are ok to me. if im gonna buy the game, im gonna get it used from ebay/amazon, yard sales, or maybe even gamestop! except for pokemon games, cause they have to be real to use them at tournaments. i see it as, nintendo wont get any money from me anyways, so who cares?
The devs are doing just fine. They're just being greedy, just like the swine of riaa and everybody else trying to shove SOPA down the throats of gov't. Information should be free. They should know this going in that if it's not tangible, it will be replicated regardless of what purpose. It's been like that forever. Publishers tried to sue those with printing presses, then those with vcr's, cassette players, and eventually 12 year old girls and grandmas. So who's really the antagonists here? The pirates or the fatcats trying to monopolize on talent?
Why do you think everything now has gone to crap? Just greedy suits manhandling the people who make the goods to appeal to the joe six-packs. I'm all for tossing my dime to those who deserve it. I know my money isn't going to fund some douchebag's second gold plated swimming pool, that's for sure.
Platforms like the humble indie pack is something I can get behind on, because the games are quality, you decide the value of the games and the money not only goes to the people who deserve it, but to a good cause as well. I'm in favor of piracy out of the principle that information should be free, but that's not to say that the person behind the works shouldn't deserve what they're owed. The don't get much regardless of what happens.
...You featured your own blog? As a cat I think that's pathetic.
Emulators are illegal too, regardless of whether or not you own the game.
Honestly, pirating isn't good. But its not like developers are losing THAT much money. I mean, 59.99 for a game? That's rediculous. If everyone pirates it no money is made which means a big loss.
Good point.
but, hey, a wii game costs here 100$,do you think i am PAYING that much?.
When i can get my good games for TWO DOLARS?.
I am totally in supporting developers, but im not paying that ridiculous amount of money for a simple game.
illegal or not, everyone does it here, on ther xboxes, PS3's and wii.
The police nor the goverment dont do anything for it.
Just look, at the 3DS launch, it would cost 900$ here, mexican money converted to dolars.
Do you think i would pay that, too?.
After the price drop, the 3DS price was 400$, still not paying that much.
However ihad to buy it in sears for 350.
Point is, piracy is the way here.
Whoo! Let's all suck up!
So, if someone makes me a copy of another person's house key, I guess it's not illegal for me to go into the house when the owners are out shopping and take all their stuff.
Illegal piracy is illegal. Therefore illegal piracy is stupid because stupid people do illegal piracy.
Stupid People are stupid.
Good point.

Taxing, exchange rates, inflation, legal regulations, etc are what raise the price in a particular country. But it still doesn't justify theft.
I once got banned in the old ShoutBox of DSiCade for my nickname 'TheEmulationZone'.
Why? Because they thought emulators were illegal. While I never mentioned something about playing illegal game copies on emulators.
