There hasn't been a Polemic Rant for a while. I remember when the only blogs were Rants and Reviews. I'm not here to take a SDK history class, i'm here to talk about an issue rising in the game MarioKart7. I've seen this happen many a time, and it's becoming rather frequent.

The issue is Reagquitting, and it's dirty racing.


Say you're racing someone in a community, and you're winning 3-0. If you win the next race, then you get a nice crisp 12 points, right? Well, you win the race (deserved, I hope), and the results are about to be announced...

But it doesn't happen. You don't get your points, because some loser has decided to quit, and a little window has popped up saying "Communication error.
You don't get the points, you don't get the coins, you don't get the win, and you barely get the satisfaction. This is raegquitting.

Raegquitting appears frequently in many games. Pokemon, Street Fighter, you name it. It stops the successor from attaining the rightful points deserved and allocated by a win.

Stopping such a pitiful act is impossible, but it's frequency to occur within SDK communities can whither.


I recommend to anyone making an SDK-based MarioKart7 community to create a rule to ban raegquitting, as this will help to prevent it.

Also, if you're a raegquitter, follow these steps to be healed of your curse.

Step one: Aquire hammer.
Step two: Place 3ds on table.
Step three: Hold onto the hammer firmly.
Step three: Swing the hammer in a downward fashion, so as to hit the 3ds hard. Repeat.
Step 4: Aquire flame.
Step 5: Raise flame close to the 3ds to melt all remaining exterior plastic.
Step 6: Obtain shredder.
Step 7: Place 3ds in shredder and turn shredder on.
Watch with delight as your raegquitting days come to an end!

If your 3ds is a vampire, spread ashes in a lake to prevent rebirth.

If your 3ds is a werewolf, shoot it with a steel bullet.

If your 3ds is made of food, eat it.

If your 3ds is imaginary, don't bother.
