Hi, this is just an assignment that I handed in to music class to evaluate myself, I thought it was pretty funny.

Evaluation Of Self

In music class I encountered a fair amount of obstacles, I had ways of overcoming these obstacles here are some of them. During class I found it hard to concentrate on boring musical pieces (i.e. Double Dribble), to overcome this hurdle, I added my own stuff to the music piece during my practice time and when the time came for me to perform or present, I played the musical piece properly. Another problem I encountered was playing the drum kit because, I did not get enough practice time to get familiar with the kit. I overcame this obstacle by practicing on my “imaginary drum kit”. There weren’t many obstacles in music class which is good, and I can continue to progress.

During this semester, I learned a lot from music class, a lot of which I did not really care for. However I did learn how to play on the drum kit which is essentially what I came here for. I learned how to play the bells remembered a few songs, even though I will most likely forget them in the near future. I also learned about a Canadian bongo player, that goes by the name of Myles Biglow which was interesting because did not think it was possible for there to be a Canadian bongo player. Many thing were learned in music class this semester, many things.

Rehearsal methods learned over this course were, practicing on my “imaginary drum kit”, this helped because I got used to multi tasking with my hands. When the music was too difficult to play, I would take it really slow, this helps because it allows me to think about how and when to play the notes. When playing, I also count out loud to help me play the beats at the right time. As you can see, I have learned a lot of cool ninja skills to help me play the drums.

This year I practiced regularly to improve my skills, while I do not practice as much at school, it is because I get more done at home. To improve on this I should use my class time more wisely so I can maximize my skills. I did not learn anything that applied to my other classes; the only thing was that I entertained my friends by playing drumbeats during a boring lesson or work period. Drum sticks are also great weapons, just kidding.
